Day 2: BrusselsWhat a whirlwind as we find ourselves back on the train to Brussels - only this time we had our guide Hans to figure out the tickets! It is so much more relaxing to travel when you have someone else figure out the logistics. We spent the morning as a group exploring Brussels, then free time in the afternoon, which we used to catch an earlier train back to Ghent so we could visit the Altarpiece of Ghent.

Today's ActivityHans led us on a great walk of historic Brussels. It's always nice to go with someone who knows the city as they point out all the little details you could easily miss on your own. After lunch just off the Grassmarkt square, we stopped at the train station to pick up our return tickets to Ghent before rendezvousing with our group to tour the Royal Beaux Arts Museum. A brisk walk back to the station to catch our train to Ghent and a short walk later we were shoulder to shoulder with the other visitors viewing the Altarpiece of Ghent.

If I could do this day differently...
I would have spent the afternoon and evening in Brussels. There are more things to do in this city than you can possibly cram into just one afternoon, so budget your time. If I hadn't spend the previous day in Brussels, I would visit the MIM right after the Royal Beaux Arts museum (they are located within 5 minutes of each other) then walked the lower town area in search of comic strips and enjoy a great dinner in Brussels followed by some nighttime photos of Grand Place.
